We are a unique insurance agency. Our sole purpose is to consult, to solicit and service student insurance programs. These insurance programs include plans for colleges and Universities of any size, State Consortiums, Community and Technical Colleges, Recreational Departments, all sports, Intercollegiate sports, K-12, camps, daycare and other medical and accident plans for students and youth sports. We have learned that to provide the highest level of service in the industry, we need to listen to our clients, ask for their input as to how we can do a better job and implement suggestions. We realize that each account is unique and flexibility is critical to our success.
Our agency was established in 1948, and is a family run business. Joe W. Pearce, Sr. and Lelia B. Pearce began this family business. He was in charge of sales and she was responsible for operations. This tradition continues today as Joe W. Pearce, Jr. focuses on sales and Carolyn Pearce is responsible for operations. In 1997, Carolyn and Rocky’s oldest son joined our team. He was followed by his brother who came on board a few years later. Now all four sons add to the third generation. Their association with our agency ensures that our family business tradition will continue for years to come. Joe W. “Rocky” Pearce, Jr. not only leads his agency, but is also active in his community and his state. He served as mayor of Florence, South Carolina for 8 years, he was awarded The Order of the Palmetto by the Governor of South Carolina. This is the highest award bestowed on an individual by the state. The governor also named Rocky the South Carolina Ambassador of the year for Economic Development.

Rocky has grown his business from less than 10 employees to over 50 employees and expanded nationwide.

In 1997 we made a decision to control our own destiny when we brought premium administration, online claims information, claims processing, hard waiver/verification administration, payroll deduction administration, online referral service, monthly payment options, web site administration, and university administration look up services in-house. All of these programs are customized to our clients. Our agency also provides a full range of electronic transfer of information services. Institutions have full access, via an Administrative Lookup web page, to all information concerning students insured under their institution plans in ‘real time’ including (but not limited to):
- Enrollment Status (enrolled, cancelled, waived,
etc.)
- Claims Status (claims received, claims paid,
EOB’s, etc.)
- Dates of Coverage
- Referrals issued from Student Health Center
- Complete claims service – adjudication, payment, appeals, repricing, large claims management
- Customer Service - claims, eligibility and enrollment, benefits
- Eligibility and Enrollment – online enrollment and student/administrative account access
- Premium administration – including annual, semester and monthly payments and university contribution payments, payroll deductions
- Waiver Administration and Verification – online student/administrative waivers, including verification
- Printed materials – including brochures
- Premium / Claims / Accounting Reports – and other plan reports as required and requested
- PPO Network(s) Acquisition
